How To Demolish A Trailer – Step By Step
With the right equipment and experience, mobile home demolition and removal can be done in as little as 5-6 hours! Below are the steps for general mobile home demolition
- Obtain all necessary permits prior to beginning demolition
- Ensure water, sewer, and electric utilities are all disconnected prior to beginning demolition
- Order 2-3 40 cubic yard dumpsters to be dropped on-site before beginning demolition
- Begin knocking out the wall structure of the trailer – this is the main support for the mobile home, so it is the easiest way to get it down quick
- Pull the roof structure off of the trailer, and begin “grinding” up the material to pack into the dumpsters better
- Begin loading the dumpsters with the demolition debris, ensuring you separate all recyclables, etc
- When it comes time, flip the trailer over so the frame is exposed and pull the frame off the bottom of the trailer
- Have an experienced employee begin cutting up the trailer frame in a safe location. A torch, or carbide-tipped sawzall blades work great for this!
- Finish loading all debris into the dumpsters, and have an employee pick up all the small items left behind. Plan on this process to take at least 3-4 hours if the site is to look perfect.
- Load up scrap metal to go to the scrap yard, and call the dumpster company for pickup of the dumpsters

We have found that the average 70′ mobile home demolition costs as follows:
- $2700 for dumpster fees (Northeast PA Rates @ $90/ton + hauling)
- $800 for machine rental and delivery
Scrap Value of a Mobile Home
Most people wonder what the scrap value of an average 70′ mobile home is. Unfortunately, the average mobile home will only net about $300-400 in scrap value depending on its construction. The average values are as follows:
- $200-250 for trailer frame (Shearing price as of 1/1/22 is $230/ton at Weitsman Scranton)
- $50 for copper/wiring
- $100 for misc. tin siding & appliances from trailer
As you can see, the costs of demolishing and disposing of a mobile home seriously outweigh the scrap value of the same home. Be wary of anyone who offers to demolish your mobile home for scrap value, as you may be left with a big mess to clean up!

Hard working guys got the job done in one day. I recently bought a foreclose property and have A+ Enterprises help do the clean up. Its a 3 bedroom house full of junk, and everything was gone at the end of the day. Image a house hoarders live in, 3 bedrooms, each with bed, dressers, night stand, TV and many other trash, you do not want to be in the room more than 1 minute. Kitchen full of dirty dishes, appliances and dining table with chairs. At the end of the day, whatever not bolted down was gone, including most of the nasty carpet. I will definitely use their service again. Great service and the hard working people.
