How do you price your services?
Pricing, of course, is one of the most important factors in making any decision. Some larger, franchised junk removal services have a minimum charge of around $130 to show up, no matter how small the item. No matter the company you choose, ensure that the price they give you is the final price with tax, dump fees, and everything else included.

How soon can you do the job?
Nobody likes to have clutter in and around their homes or job sites longer than necessary. Check if the company has online reservation options or discounts. Make sure they have the appropriate equipment and labor to get the job done in an appropriate time frame – and that they confirm the appointment and arrival time once the job is booked.

Do you have insurance?
Hiring a company to do work on your property without insurance, no matter how small the job, is a huge gamble. You’ll feel more at peace working with an insured company. Certified companies have to maintain set levels of competence to maintain their insurance and reputation – and they usually care deeply about customer service. It’s also nice to know you’re protected if anything should get damaged in the process.

Do you offer dumpster rental?
For our budget-minded customers, renting a dumpster is often times 20-30% cheaper than hiring a junk removal company depending on what is being removed. This may work with smaller items and bags of trash, but might not be ideal for large appliances. When it comes to heavy lifting, we suggest leaving it to the trained and experienced junk removal crew.

Do you recycle?
A junk removal company that takes everything they remove to the landfill is doing a major dis-service to themselves and the environment. A good junk removal company should be able to recycle approximately 40% of the material they remove from an average job site. Some recyclable materials are: electronics, metal, plastic, wood, fabric, donatable items, and clean fill. Always be sure to ask the junk removal company if they recycle, and be sure to ask for a discount if you have a lot of recyclable goods such as metals.

What type of junk do you take?
Many smaller junk removal companies do not have the resources to haul large, heavy items away as they do not have the properly sized trucks and trailers. Always be sure to know beforehand if there are any size/weight/material restrictions that would prevent the junk removal company from hauling your items away. Common items that cannot be removed include: CRT TV’s (in Pennsylvania), hazardous waste, medical waste, and asbestos.
