Bulk Trash Pickup Alternative
We get calls from many customers in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area, who ask about having trash or garbage removed from their homes. One customer may have a bulky couch that needs to be removed, while another has over 50 garbage bags from a cleanup!
We are not cheaper than your garbage company
Many garbage and trash pickup services offer bulk pickup a few times a year, typically at a low cost. The reason they are able to do this for cheap is that they have a contract with the towns they operate in that requires them to offer this service at a small cost. Another reason your trash company is cheaper is that you do most of the work for them!
For example, we had a customer who was told that County Waste would pick up 2 couches for $150. The deal was the customer had to lug the couches (which were extremely heavy) out to the curb. After that, he had to call for pickup, which could take over a week to happen!
Our junk removal service quoted this customer $200 to dispose of both of those couches. We hauled the couches out of his house, around the back yard, and into one of our junk removal trucks. To our customer, the extra $50 spent was a no-brainer!
Bulk Pickup Restrictions
Another inconvenience about trash service bulk pickup is that it is on their schedule, and many companies/towns will only allow up to 2 items. This means if you have a whole bedroom set you want gone, they will only remove your mattress and box spring.
In addition, if your town only runs bulk trash pickup a few times a year, you may be waiting for months to have your items hauled away!

Our customers prefer this type of pricing because there is never any confusion on what we charge to remove junk. Other companies may estimate a low amount of truckloads and time, then hit the customer with an outrageous bill due to “overages”.

Contacted Sal to have some old boxes removed, called me the next day to set up a time to estimate the work. Came first thing the next morning and gave me a great quote.
