Getting rid of an old boat sounds like a difficult thing to do, but A+ Enterprises is here to help!

An old boat can turn an otherwise beautiful property into an unsightly mess! They are often infested with rodents, and can pool water which could attract mosquitoes.
Making sure your old, unwanted boat is removed before it causes these hazards is very important. It is important to call a boat removal service to haul away & properly dispose of your old boat if it is no longer needed.
Many of our customers have found that absolutely nobody in the Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre area will remove an old boat and dispose of it properly. One call to A+ Enterprises Junk Removal, and we were able to get rid of their old boat quickly and efficiently.
The problem with old boats
You might be asking, “how can I get rid of an old boat?” That question can often-times give people anxiety thinking about it, because for most people disposing of an old boat is no easy task.
If a boat is properly maintained, it can provide decades of enjoyment and fun. If a boat is neglected for even one year, it can be rendered useless and will need to be disposed of. Most boat dealers do not provide solutions for old boat disposal, but A+ Enterprises does!
We are a fully licensed and insured boat removal service. Our company can come to your location, and remove your junk boat whether it is on a trailer, in the water, or beached on the ground.
How we remove boats
For most boats we remove, the best way to haul it away is to winch it onto a rollback truck. This allows us to quickly load that old boat up, and be on our way. It is also the least expensive option as it only requires one truck.
The downside to winching boats onto a rollback truck is the maximum length for the boat & trailer combination can be no longer than 20′ long.
Another option if the boat & trailer are roadworthy is to simply tow it away. We have salvage plates we will put on the trailer, and safely transport it back to our facility. A downside to doing this is if the trailer has been sitting for a while, the tires and wheel bearings may be unsafe for transport.
The final option for removing boats is unfortunately the most expensive. For large or otherwise un-movable boats, we will demolish them on-site. This involves us bringing out our excavator, rolloff dumpster truck(s), and dump trailer for metal recycling.
While the whole process of demolishing and removing a boat takes only 4 hours on average, it unfortunately costs more due to having to bring out multiple pieces of equipment.
How we dispose of boats
Properly disposing of a boat is important. Some people will do terrible things just to get rid of a boat such as sinking it in a lake or river, throwing it in the woods, or trying to burn it! The only proper way to dispose of a fiberglass boat is to take it to the landfill to be safely and responsibly disposed of.
We salvage as much as we can off the boat such as the engine and trailer frame for scrap metal. This keeps as much out of the landfills as possible. These engines & trailer frames will then be reused in other boats, to keep them from getting junked as well. This is the most environmentally friendly way to dispose of old boats.
Do you need a title?
Because we simply dispose of boats, we do not need a title to get rid of your old boat! Whether the title was lost, stolen, etc. it does not matter as we simply take the boat to the landfill where it will be crushed up.
Many other boat removal services require you to have a title to your old boat because they attempt to re-sell them. While that is possible, we feel that is misleading to the customer. We do the right thing by junking your old boat.
What does boat removal cost?
There are some companies that will remove your old boat for free. While free junk boat removal services do exist, they are often-times not a safe or environmentally friendly option. We carry liability insurance, which protects you in case of any damage to your property while removing your boat.
While some boats DO have valuable parts in them, they need to be torn apart to get those parts. The fiberglass debris that is left over needs to be disposed of properly. We have cleaned up many sites that other “companies” left the hulls of boats out to rot, causing environmental damage.
The average cost to dispose of a 17′ boat in Northeast Pennsylvania is around $950. That includes all of the transport, dismantling, recycling, and disposal costs associated with getting rid of that old boat. It is cheaper and easier than trying to do it yourself!
A+ Enterprises not only recycles as much as possible from boats, but also ensures every boat is properly disposed of once it is time to junk it. With that said, every boat removal job is a little different. Give us a call so we can work out the best price on boat removal for you!

Hello my mom lives in Montgomery county and has 2 older boats on trailers that need to be removed. They’re approx 18’ long. Do u come out to montco county? Also tires are not in great condition. A around about price would be great. I will not hold u to a round about estimate just a general idea. I prefer emails
Thanks
Recycling a boat and then reselling it for a better price is another creative option. You can start a DIY project to renovate the hull or certain elements of your ship.
Bought boat as a “Fixer Upper” just before pandemic. Nothing done to it since. Tree fell over a shed which took most of the next spring and some of the summer to replace. Age and Physical condition of myself and finances at a Point where I can no longer do what is needed. Boat did run when I bought it – but now it won’t start. Bad battery – gas – lack of ambition.
